TEXAS ROSE FESTIVAL

The Texas Rose Festival, a three-day event held annually in Tyler, Texas, celebrates the role of the rose-growing industry in the local economy. Since 1933, the annual Rose Festival and various activities for the purpose of promoting Tyler & Smith County to attract commerce and tourism. Rich in heritage and tradition, the Festival offers ceremonial events every October to include the Queen's Coronation, Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Rose Presentation, The Queen's Tea and the Rose Parade. The annual event takes continual planning and is done mostly by volunteers in the Tyler community.

In 2019, Jacob A Climer was hired to be creative director, costume and scenic designer, of the Texas Rose Festival.
Creating over 45 stunning creations yearly -  which the Tyler Morning Telegraph called  " breathtaking array of intricate gowns" and the New York Times citing that "his creations were a smash."  Jacob is the 4th Designer to hold this position in the festivals 92 year history. Filling the shoes of Winn Morton and Anne Lowe.

Working with over 15 shops, drapers, milliners, painters and other artisans, Jacob and his team create show stopping costumes and scenery to each years theme.
